Hello Crush family. Please publish to you families ASAP.
The Crush Board of Directors has been closely following the rapidly developing news regarding the Coronavirus crisis. The State of Oregon, the Bend-LaPine School District, and other governmental agencies have taken significant steps to try to slow the spread of the virus by limiting large gatherings, closing schools, etc. Most major sporting events have been postponed indefinitely or cancelled. Unfortunately, those cancellations have also impacted tournaments that Crush teams were planning to play in. We anticipate that there will be more tournament cancellations with time.
While these current events are outside of our control, and certainly disappointing, Crush’s primary concern at this point is the health and safety of its youth participants and their families. Some things are simply more important than baseball, and Crush wants to act responsibly and in a manner consistent with what public health officials are recommending. Accordingly, Crush is suspending all organization activities, effective immediately and until further notice. This means no participation in tournaments, no team practices, no coach meetings, etc.
We do not know when Crush will resume activities this season, but we will be monitoring the public health situation and keep you updated as things develop. In the meantime, we encourage kids to get outside, stay in shape, and continue to work on their skills, consistent with what individual families are comfortable doing. That way, when we do resume, players will be as ready as possible under the circumstances. We understand that every family is different and that these are very personal decisions. Whether those decisions include spending time with teammates or others in the Crush family is up to each of you, as all families need to make those choices without the pressure of official club activities. Crush Baseball wants to be a responsible social actor, and the health of the Crush family is priority number one.
We are also in the process of reviewing the current state of Crush finances, dues payments, etc. We ask for your patience while we work through the numbers.
We are all disappointed with these developments given how much hard work everybody has put in to get ready for the season. We will play baseball again. Thank you for your understanding.

“The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It’s been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.” Terrance Mann (James Earl Jones) in Field of Dreams”
